Maasai Mara, also sometimes spelled Masai Mara and locally known simply as The Mara, is a large national game reserve in Narok, Kenya, contiguous with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. It is named in honor of the Maasai people, the ancestral inhabitants of the area, who migrated to the region from the Nile Basin. The Maasai Mara is renowned for its diverse wildlife, including populations of lion, leopard, cheetah, and African bush elephant. It also hosts the Great Migration, which secured its place as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa and one of the ten Wonders of the World.

The Greater Mara ecosystem encompasses several areas:

Maasai Mara National Reserve: The core reserve area.

Mara Triangle: A section within the reserve.

Several Maasai group ranches and conservancies. The Maasai Mara offers a stunning landscape of rolling plains, acacia woodlands, and riverine forests. Visitors can explore the park through game drives, walking safaris, or hot air balloon rides. Additionally, you can learn about the culture and traditions of the Maasai people, who live in harmony with the wildlife and the land. Accommodation options range from luxury lodges and tented camps to budget campsites, allowing you to experience the magic of the African night sky
