! Tsavo West National Park is a rugged wilderness located in southeastern Kenya. It covers an area of 9,065 square kilometers and is the second largest national park in Kenya1. Here are some key features:

Mzima Springs: This natural wonder gushes out fifty million gallons of crystal-clear water from under parched lava rock. Visitors can observe this spectacle and enjoy the scenic beauty.

Savannah Ecosystem: The park comprises open grasslands, scrublands, Acacia woodlands, riverine vegetation, and rocky ridges. Keep an eye out for diverse wildlife, including elephants, rhinos, hippos, lions, cheetahs, leopards, and buffalos.

Birdwatching: Tsavo West boasts over 600 bird species, including the threatened corncrake and near-threatened Basra Reed Warbler.

Poacher’s Lookout: From this vantage point, you can witness teeming herds in the plains below.

Tsavo West National Park collaborates with its sister park, Tsavo East, as part of the Tsavo Conservation Area2. If you plan to visit, consider exploring both parks for a comprehensive wildlife experience! 🦁🌿🌅
