The Source of the Nile is located at what used to be the Ripon Falls, which were submerged by the Owen Falls Dam.
It’s where the Nile River starts to flow away from Lake Victoria, eventually reaching the Mediterranean Sea in Egypt.
John Speke’s exploration in 1862 confirmed that the source is indeed in Uganda, on Lake Victoria, near Jinja.
