Embark on a 16-day journey through the heart of East Africa, exploring the natural wonders of Uganda and Rwanda. From the source of the Nile in Jinja to the majestic Murchison Falls, the primate-rich forests of Kibale, and the breathtaking landscapes of Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, this safari offers an immersive experience in some of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations. The adventure continues in Rwanda, where you’ll explore Volcanoes National Park and Akagera National Park, concluding in Kigali.

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe, Uganda

Activity: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport.

Details: Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Entebbe. Spend the rest of the day relaxing after your journey.

Meals: Dinner.

Day 2: Entebbe to Jinja

Activity: Transfer to Jinja.

Details: After breakfast, drive to Jinja, known as the source of the Nile. Upon arrival, enjoy a boat ride to the source of the Nile and explore the town. Optional activities include white-water rafting or a visit to local markets.

Day 3: Jinja to Murchison Falls National Park

Activity: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.

Details: After breakfast, drive to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on the Nile River to the base of the falls, where you can see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species.

Day 4: Murchison Falls National Park

Activity: Game Drive and Top of the Falls Visit.

Details: Enjoy an early morning game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, where you can spot lions, elephants, buffalo, and more. After lunch, visit the top of Murchison Falls to witness the powerful rush of the Nile through a narrow gorge.

Day 5: Murchison Falls to Kibale National Park

Activity: Transfer to Kibale National Park.

Day 6: Kibale National Park

Activity: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Swamp Walk.

Details: Set out early for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest, home to the largest population of chimpanzees in Uganda. In the afternoon, take a guided walk in Bigodi Swamp, a haven for birdlife and primates.

Day 7: Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Activity: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Details: After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its diverse ecosystems. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, go on a game drive in the park’s northern sector.

Day 8: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Activity: Game Drives and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise.

Day 9: Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Day 10: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Activity: Gorilla Trekking.

Day 11: Bwindi to Ruhengeri, Rwanda

Day 12: Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Activity: Golden Monkey Trekking.

Details: Spend the morning trekking to see the playful and endangered golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park. In the afternoon, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village to learn about Rwandan traditions and culture.

Day 13: Ruhengeri to Kigali

Day 14: Kigali to Akagera National Park

Day 15: Akagera National Park

Activity: Game Drive and Boat Safari.

Day 16: Akagera to Kigali & Departure

Activity: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Kigali.

Details: Enjoy a final morning game drive in Akagera before driving back to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for last-minute shopping or additional sightseeing before being transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure.
