From the vibrant capital city of Kigali to the expansive savannas of Akagera National Park, the misty mountains of Nyungwe Forest, and the volcanic ranges in Volcanoes National Park, this journey offers an unforgettable adventure through one of Africa’s most picturesque countries.

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Activity: Arrival at Kigali International Airport.

Details: Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may have a chance to explore Kigali, including visits to local markets or the Kigali Genocide Memorial.

Accommodation: Hotel in Kigali.

Meals: Dinner.

Day 2: Kigali to Akagera National Park

Activity: Transfer to Akagera National Park.

Details: After breakfast, drive to Akagera National Park, located about 2.5 hours from Kigali. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive where you’ll have the opportunity to spot the Big Five, including elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and rhinos.

Day 3: Akagera National Park

Activity: Full-day Game Drive and Boat Safari.

Details: Spend the day exploring Akagera National Park. Begin with an early morning game drive to spot wildlife at its most active. After lunch, take a boat safari on Lake Ihema to see hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species.

Accommodation: Lodge within Akagera National Park.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 4: Akagera to Kigali

Activity: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Kigali.

Details: Enjoy a final morning game drive in Akagera before returning to Kigali. In the evening, you may choose to explore the city’s nightlife or relax at your hotel.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 5: Kigali to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Activity: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park.

Details: After breakfast, drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park, a journey of about 5-6 hours. The drive offers scenic views of Rwanda’s rolling hills and tea plantations. Arrive in Nyungwe in the afternoon, with time to relax or explore the area around your lodge.

Day 6: Nyungwe Forest National Park

Activity: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk.

Details: Begin your day with an early morning chimpanzee trek, where you’ll have the chance to observe these primates in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, experience the Nyungwe Canopy Walk, offering breathtaking views of the forest from above.

Day 7: Nyungwe to Kibuye & Volcanoes National Park

Activity: Transfer to Kibuye and then to Volcanoes National Park.

Details: After breakfast, drive to the lakeside town of Kibuye on the shores of Lake Kivu. Enjoy lunch by the lake before continuing your journey to Volcanoes National Park. The drive to Volcanoes National Park will take about 3-4 hours.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park & Departure

Activity: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Kigali.

Details: Start your day with a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch before driving back to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some time for last-minute shopping or exploring before being transferred to the airport for your departure.
