Tour Overview: This safari offers a rich blend of primate tracking, mountain hiking, and wildlife viewing. It covers three of Uganda’s most diverse regions: the primate-rich Kibale National Park, the stunning landscapes of the Rwenzori Mountains, and the wildlife-abundant Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe and Transfer to Kibale National Park

Drive Time: Approximately 5-6 hours (320 km)

Activities: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Accommodation: Primate Lodge Kibale or similar

Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner

Description: Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to Kibale National Park. Known as the primate capital of the world, Kibale is home to 13 species of primates, including the largest population of chimpanzees in Uganda. Arrive in the late afternoon and check into your lodge for a restful evening.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Walk

Activities: Chimpanzee Tracking, Bigodi Wetland Walk

Accommodation: Primate Lodge Kibale or similar

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Description: Start your day with an early morning chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale Forest. Accompanied by experienced trackers, you’ll have the chance to observe these fascinating primates in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, take a guided walk through Bigodi Wetland, a community-run conservation project known for its rich biodiversity, including many bird species.

Day 3: Transfer to Rwenzori Mountains and Short Hike

Drive Time: Approximately 3 hours (150 km)

Activities: Transfer to Rwenzori Mountains, Short Hike

Accommodation: Equator Snow Lodge or similar

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Description: After breakfast, transfer to the Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the “Mountains of the Moon.” Upon arrival, embark on a short hike at the foothills of the mountains, where you’ll explore the diverse flora and fauna of this unique ecosystem. The Rwenzoris offer stunning views and are a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 4: Full-Day Hike in Rwenzori Mountains

Activities: Full-Day Hike

Accommodation: Equator Snow Lodge or similar

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Description: Spend the day exploring the Rwenzori Mountains on a full-day hike. The trek will take you through montane forests, bamboo zones, and moorlands, offering spectacular views and a chance to see various bird species, primates, and endemic plants. This hike is tailored to your fitness level and interest, with options ranging from moderate walks to more challenging treks.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Game Drive

Drive Time: Approximately 2.5 hours (120 km)

Activities: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Evening Game Drive

Accommodation: Mweya Safari Lodge or similar

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Description: After breakfast, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most popular wildlife destinations. Arrive in time for an evening game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, where you can spot lions, elephants, buffalo, and other wildlife. The park is renowned for its diversity, including savannah, wetlands, and crater lakes.

Day 6: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Activities: Morning Game Drive, Afternoon Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Accommodation: Mweya Safari Lodge or similar

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Description: Begin your day with an early morning game drive, focusing on the areas where lions and other predators are commonly seen. After lunch, embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake George to Lake Edward. The channel is home to a large population of hippos, crocodiles, and a myriad of bird species, making it a highlight of the safari.

Day 7: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Entebbe

Drive Time: Approximately 6-7 hours (375 km)

Activities: Morning Game Drive, Transfer to Entebbe

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch

Description: Enjoy one last game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park before heading back to Entebbe. Depending on your flight schedule, there may be time for a brief stop at the equator for a photo opportunity. Upon arrival in Entebbe, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
