Game Drives

Morning Game Drive: The day usually starts before dawn, with a 5:00 AM or 6:00 AM game drive. This is the best time to spot wildlife, as animals are most active in the early morning before the heat of the day. Guests are taken out in specialized safari vehicles (often open-roof) with a trained guide and driver. You’ll likely see lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and other herbivores feeding or drinking at waterholes.

Evening Game Drive: The second game drive happens late in the afternoon as the sun sets. This is another prime time for animal viewing, particularly predators like leopards, lions, and hyenas preparing to hunt. The drive ends with a traditional “sundowner” – drinks enjoyed as you watch the sunset.

Night Game Drive: Not all safaris offer this, but it can be a thrilling way to spot nocturnal animals like bush babies, owls, and even lions hunting. Spotlights are used by guides to track animals in the dark.
